KASIKORN ASSET MANAGEMENT Co., Ltd. (KAsset) aims to be Thailand's leader in sustainable investing under the “Insight to Impact" concept by leveraging deep insights and understanding to deliver tangible outcomes that create economic, social, and environmental value through targeted actions. KAsset boasts the industry's largest market share in ESG Fund and SRI Fund, with a combined value of more than Baht 60 billion, and is a driving force in elevating Thailand's sustainable investment standards towards international levels.
Mr. Win Phromphaet, CFA, Executive Chairman of Kasikorn Asset Management Co., Ltd. (KAsset), said that the company is striving to become Thailand's leader in sustainable investing, guided by the “Insight to Impact" concept. This approach emphasizes generating positive impacts across the economy, society, and environment through four key strategic pillars: These include 1. Trusted Partner for Sustainable Investment Solutions: Delivering reliable, sustainable investment products and advisory services that address the challenges of a changing world; 2. Strengthening Active Ownership & ESG Integration: Enhancing engagement with invested companies and fully integrating ESG into the investment process; 3. Leadership in Governance & Transparency: Becoming a leader in corporate governance and transparent disclosures in line with international standards; and 4. Net Zero Commitment: Committing to achieve net-zero carbon emissions across both the company's operations and investment portfolios.
Mr. Win added that KAsset's recent achievements in sustainability have yielded concrete results across all ESG dimensions. For the environmental aspect, the company's contributions can be categorized into two main areas: sustainable investing and internal operations. In terms of investment, KAsset has set a target to achieve Net Zero AUM (Assets under Management in Scope) emissions by 2065. The company also promotes and supports Thailand's journey towards Net Zero emissions through the development and launch of the K-Target Net Zero Fund, which focuses on investing in companies with clear strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in line with long-term sustainability goals. Furthermore, KAsset has continued, for the third consecutive year, to assess climate-related risks and opportunities affecting its investment portfolio in accordance with the Task Force for Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) guidelines. For internal operations, KAsset aims to achieve Net Zero emissions for Scope 1 and 2 by 2030. In 2024, the company reduced its diesel usage by more than 2,000 liters, equivalent to a 41-percent decrease compared to the previous year. KAsset also plans to transition its entire vehicle fleet to electric vehicles (EVs) within the next five years. Additionally, the company has purchased Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) to offset greenhouse gas emissions from electricity use, making it carbon neutral in this aspect. KAsset also promotes internal waste management, successfully reducing total waste by more than 20 percent and cutting landfill waste by 52 percent compared to the previous year.
Regarding social initiatives, KAsset has been sharing knowledge about sustainable investing through articles on social media and public seminars. It also organizes the KAsset Investment Boot Camp to promote investment literacy among youths, and hosts an annual sustainability forum that brings together leaders from Thailand's public and private sectors to discuss sustainable finance, a key driver for strategic organizational transformation towards a low-carbon and climate-resilient global economy. For the governance aspect, KAsset has elevated its practices to align with international standards. It is the first asset management company in Thailand to sign the UN Principles for Responsible Investment (UNPRI). The company also produces climate-related financial disclosure reports in line with TCFD guidelines and has been a member of the Thai Private Sector Collective Action Against Corruption (CAC) since 2013.
"Over the past period, KAsset has continuously driven its sustainability efforts. In 2024, it announced a sustainable investment partnership with Lombard Odier, a renowned global financial institution from Switzerland, as an advisory partner to help develop sustainable investment strategies and products aligned with international standards. Currently, KAsset maintains its leading market share in ESG Fund and SRI Fund in Thailand, with total assets under management (AUM) of more than 32 billion Baht and 30.9 billion Baht, accounting for 28.8 percent and 37.3 percent, respectively. The market share is led by K-TNZ-ThaiESG, the largest ThaiESG equity fund in the industry, valued at more than 2.98 billion Baht, and the first and only fund in Thailand promoting the Net Zero goal. Meanwhile, K-ESGSI-ThaiESG is the largest ESG Sovereign Instrument Fund, valued at more than 6.27 billion Baht. Additionally, K-CHANGE is the largest international ESG equity fund, valued at more than 15 billion Baht (Source: AIMC as of June 30, 2025)," said Mr. Win.
Mr. Win added, “The success of KAsset's ESG fund management has been recognized by both national and international awards, including the Best Asset Management Company – ESG award at the SET Awards 2024, the Best ESG Manager award at the Best of the Best Awards 2025, and most recently, the Asset Management Company of the Year award at The Asset Triple A Sustainable Investing Awards 2025.
